On Saturday February 5, the B2B foundation hosted its first indoor volleyball tournament of the New Year at
the Monpetit Gymnasium of Ottawa University. The tournament consisted of 16 strong teams varying from
high-school students, government teams, and groups from our previous indoor and beach volleyball charity events.
Kimberly Cheeseman, manager of the Government of Canada Charitable Campaigns started the day off with a few words
of thought and encouragement for all the teams.
After many fun yet extreme games of volleyball, Killer Instinct defeated Team Gringos for
their 2nd consecutive gold medal of indoor B2B charity volleyball events. The final match
was a series of close games between the youngest and oldest teams at the event - the battle of generations!
Coming up 3rd was Dirty Balls who also fought well throughout the tournament.
Thank you volunteers, players and all who participated in the first charity event of the year.
In the end roughly $800.00 was raised for The United Way of Canada in support of their efforts
to strengthen their communities and improve the quality of life of Canadians. Once again, a big thanks
to all that have donated and hope to see you all at our next event!

2011-02-05 B2B Indoor Volleyball Tournament for Charity
Hello Everyone,
My name is Eric and I am one of your Begin 2 Believe Event Coordinators! I have been with the Begin 2 Believe Association (B2B)
since its inception. In the last three years, I have volunteered almost at all of our events. On March 5, 2011 at our
second indoor volleyball charity tournament for 2011, instead of volunteering, I decided to contribute in a different way to the
Begin 2 Believe Association by making my own team. The transition from providing volunteer service for our charity events to actually
participating in them was quite the positive experience. I never thought playing sports with my friends, relatives, and other participants
of Begin 2 Believe Association would be so fun.
In addition, there was a noticeable difference between the Begin 2 Believe tournaments compared to other profit tournaments that I have participated in.
The participants of B2B were much friendlier since we were playing for charity! Overall, I enjoyed my time at this tournament and I am glad I helped
Begin 2 Believe fundraised $900 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. The winners of the Recreational/Intermediate pool were 1) Elite Immigrants 2) Hulk Smash! 3) V-Slam
and the winners of the Competitive pool were 1) B4-4 2) Monkeys 3) Asian Invasion + 1.5. Congratulations!
Last but not least, if you are looking to play sports while make a difference in our community, make sure to check out our website often as we are actively releasing new events
almost on a monthly basis! Register your team at www.begin2believe.com!
See you soon,

March 26th, 2011 marked an intense day of dodgeball held at Merivale High School. This is the second event put together by
Begin 2 Believe and the MHS to raise funds for their athletics council.
There were 9 teams at the event which raised $408.80 for the Merivale High School Athletic Council.
After many suspenseful games, MHS Champs went undefeated, with the MHS alumni team, BB, a close second! Third place went to the O’Houlighans. Congratulations everyone!
Being that it was my first dodge-ball experience since ninth grade in high school – I’m a third year, university student currently – it was so much fun! Definitely a little intimidating,
but overall, it was a worthwhile experience. It was a great way to spend my Saturday afternoon! You get to be with your friends, meet new ones, get in shape, and even though my team didn’t win,
you leave the event knowing that the money is going to a good cause.
Best regards,

2011-03-26 B2B & Merivale High School Dodgeball Tournament
Hello Everyone,
On April 30, 2011, we held for the first time an indoor volleyball event at Centre Multisport in Gatineau.
The event was running great until one of our participants suffered an unexpected heart attack and passed away.
The proceeds of that event were originally for the Moisson Outaouais, but under these circumstances,
it has been agreed that we will redirect the proceeds ($1037.63) to the family. The Begin 2 Believe Association
will be sure to dedicate an event for Moisson Outaouais as planned.
Thank you everyone for your kind support and professional response to this unfortunate event.

2011-04-30 B2B Indoor Volleyball Tournament for Charity
Hello Everyone,
Sunday, June 19th was our first outdoor beach volleyball tournament of the year at Britannia Beach. What better way to spend a beautiful,
sunny Father’s Day than participating and/or watching such a dynamic and captivating event?
This year we had another amazing turn out, with 26 teams participating in both the competitive and recreational divisions.
With a combined effort from participants and Rogers Wireless’ contributions we were able to raise the most in Begin 2 Believe history,
with over $2,600 to help the Canadian Liver Foundation. All participants were decked out in their Begin 2 Believe team tanks and t-shirts
with their game faces on to help this great cause!
This event’s recreational winners were out to have fun and all played extremely well. Gold went to How I set Your Mother,
followed by CLEAN snatching silver and Tiger Blood coming in third to win bronze!
Competitive players were playing their hearts out in the scorching sun. This event’s gold went to returning defending champs PLC,
who won gold in 2008 and 2009 and silver last year. This year’s silver was won by Beach Bods who put up a magnificent effort and
bronze was won by a great team No Sets on the Beach.
Begin 2 Believe would like to thank all participants, volunteers and spectators for coming out and making this event so successful,
and a special thank you goes out to all of this event’s sponsors: Le Buffet Des Continents, Tim Hortons/Rogers TV Community Cruiser,
Rothwell Heights Chiropractic, Pope of the Wellness Group and Rogers Wireless Street Team 2011. Without all of you this event would not have been possible.
As a participant of Begin 2 Believe events since its foundation in 2008, I can definitely say this was one of my favourite events to date.
Being able to be part of an organization that brings people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds together as a united community to help those
in need is such a rewarding feeling, that nothing else can compare.
